We are pleased to inform that the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia together with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is organising the seminar on Business and Investment Opportunities in Malaysia as Gateway to ASEAN on 5th November 2018 (Monday) at Hilton Munich Park Hotel, Munich. This is in conjunction with the trade and investment mission to Europe led by Secretary General of MITI together with federal, state government officials and members representing the business community.

Malaysia held its 14th General Election on 9 May 2018, in an environment of peace and harmony. This is indeed a reflection of the existence of democracy in this country where peace and stability which Malaysia has enjoyed over the years has been a major contributor to its current economic development.  Within this context, the new Malaysian Government emphasised on the continuous drive to attract capital and technology injection into the economy and welcomes collaboration from foreign investors to work with Malaysian companies and look at Malaysia as a possible investment destination for future business expansion.

Germany is the strongest economy in Europe and one of the largest in the world. It is the birthplace of Industry 4.0 and well known for its innovative future technologies. As Malaysia is moving towards strategic diversification to increase competitiveness, particularly in high-value products and high-end services, there is much scope for expansion for German investments in Malaysia. We welcome more German investors to leverage on our country’s competitive and comparative advantages, especially in industries such as Electrical & Electronics, Machinery & Equipment, Chemicals, Life Sciences and Transport Equipment.

Malaysia has been built on a foundation of orderly systems and institutions that promote a business friendly environment, resulting in strongly anchored economic fundamentals. It is one of the most diversified economies in the world providing the right balance to the economy as the gateway to ASEAN with GDP size of USD2.55 trillion and 634 million population.
